Support & Help

Radio Sagarmatha can be a great resource center for any radio station established in Nepal whether it be a public, community, private or commercial radio stations. Radio Sagarmatha itself being a pioneer in the field of community and public radio transmissions in Nepal as well as in South Asia, intends to be a support center for such stations that need further assistance or primary help to get established and running up.

Though, Radio Sagarmatha has come up to this stage as being a stable and well organized radio station, it still has a lot to do, for itself and for others. Yet, Radio Sagarmatha can provide in-person help to any radio station in Nepal as well provide assistance to others outside Nepal through any means and medium that seems appropriate. Email and correspondence are the best way, still you can find the better way. Otherwise, we've listed out few web links that might be helpful and important to anyone interested in internet radio. We hope they serve their purpose..

Radio on the Internet

The listed sites transmit the audio through the internet using one or more of the internet audio transmission technologies. That means you should have one or more of the audio players already installed in your computer. Most of the sites below support either Real Player or MS Media Player, while other play through WinAmp or Apple Quicktime which is quite rare. In other cases like, CNN allows you to listen through any one you select while others stream their audio through only one of them. Most of the stations listed below are both on-air and internet radio transmitters while others are only internet stations.

Also, you need to have a good bandwidth to listen them in their preferred quality. While most of them can play in low bandwidth as 15kbps, most demand for a better bandwidth of 30kbps or more. Some of them have even opted for broadband transmission that is not possible through our conventional telephone systems.

According to the technologies used by the providers, the audio you hear is not the same quality in same bandwidth and the mode (mono, stereo). You might get better sound in some low bandwidth stations than some high bandwidth stations.

Have a nice time listening to the radio stations over the world...
